How to prepare a Herbal Soup?

All the while I don't like to take soup. As a Cantonese family, is rare and odd that someone doesn't like soup. Most of the time, when my mom prepared soup for me, I need to be FORCE to take, and the most I take is only 3-5 spoon, because I totally don't like to.

Is not my mom boils soup skill not good, is actually good enough. Just I'm having the bad habit :P.

But after I get married, and apart from my born family, I aware that there's no more chance to have a bowl of tasty soup. From that time, my habit was change, I like soup a lot.

Thus, I preparing my own soup.

Material:

1. Chicken
2. Herbal powder (Ginseng Chicken Herbal Mix)
3. Salt

Firstly, mix the herbal powder and salt to chicken evenly, left it for 10 minutes.

After the herbal powder mix absorb perfectly into chicken, add in water and steam around 20-30 minutes.

The soup is ready! The taste is nice and full of herbal taste.

You can see there's a bit oily on top. If you wish to have a non-oily soup, try to put chicken into boiled water for quick.

How to prepare a two person curry chicken?

Today I'm going to prepare a simple curry chicken meal for two person.

First, the material we need to get ready is: Onion rings, garlic, potato, salt, chicken, curry powder and oil. Those volume of materials is depend on your needs and taste prefrences. If there's available, you can even add in tomato, ginger blend, curry leaves, cinnamon.

But for me, the most easiest way is the materials that I mentioned above.

Fried onion rings with a little oil.

Add in garlic and chicken. You can choose drumstick if you wish to have a smoother one.

Pour in water, and add in some salt (it may be vary from people to people for different taste). Cover it for about 10 minutes.

Ok. After the chicken cook, you can add in potato and curry powder. If you wish those potato softer, you can either add in at the previous stage.

Now, curry chicken for two person is ready. Before you put on to the dining table, you can taste it, and add in some salt for better taste.

Lu Ye Yuan Vegetarian Restaurant 鹿野园素食馆@大山脚

I think I'm a meatarian. I like fish, chicken, seafood and so. Yes, I do eat vegetables and fruits, but the main reason is just that I know it is good for health.

Theres' a period, I consume a healthy dietary, following exactly what was advised by my consultant. I took a correct quantity of meat, food, rice/ noodle, and fruit. I can easily felt that my body is fresh enough, and didn't feel fatigue at all.

But after my body slim down, I don't have the persistency to continue.

Three months ago, I participated a 2 days 1 night course, the meals served were vegetarian. During the course, I had been reminded, taking vegetables is good things to follow (irrelation with religious).

I chose a day to enjoy a whole day vegetables. Unfortunately, I only can maintain for two meals, anyway, is better than none.

Lu Ye Yuan Vegetarian Restaurant is my first selection, it has many sort of food, you definitely need not to worry whether you can get your desire food (vege) over here.

Before you step in to the restaurant, there's some vege food you can buy from: including potato bun, "pao" and others.

Once I entered, the environment was tidy. One thing that block me to enter into any vegetarian shop is, there is always full of "vege" smell. May be it is because most of the food made by bean, or any other reason that I don't know.

You can either choose white rice or brown rice. This food corner, is full of all sort of vege food, and will be replace during lunch hour.

Our "vege" breakfast for today. I won't say it is a healthy breakfast, because it is fried and bit oily.

Lu Ye Yuan is a double storey restaurant, you can either dine downstair or upstair, is air-condition. So many customer dine in, especially every first and 15th of lunar month. If you are not a must to dine for vege and just like to have a try for it, so better don't visit during this two days.

Our dinner for the day. I don't dare to take some inner part of animals, but I can take the imitate inner part here which is actually made by bean.

If you are late to come in, and most of the food finished, or may be you couldn't find any food above the food corner, you can always ask for a menu.

This is what we ordered: fried rice and chicken (vege) rice. You can find that the chicken really looks like an actual chicken flesh.

Besides, roti canai (kosong) also serving here! So many option right?

Before Chinese New Year, they will selling some New Year cookiese over here too. If you like to buy some Kaya (vege), you can find it here too.

Other food like: curry fish head, bak kut teh, burger are serving as well.

Lu Ye Yuan vegetarian restaurant is a good choice if you looking for vegetarian food. The price is reasonable, or some may slightly higher. Anyway, after the inflation, for me, everywhere is expensive!

A breakfast at a special coffee shop @ Penang

It was a very special Sunday, which we were walking along from the Queen's Hostel to Chew Jetty for Sunrise photoshooting.

It was rare enough I walking in Georgetown such an early morning, even before the sunrise. We were walking about 15 minutes, and never felt hot but cool.

I was so happy that I can took a nice shoot for the sunrise. I have no confident that my simple and auto camera able to have this effect all the while.

After the sunrise photoshooting, we walked to a nearby coffee shop. When we went near and took up our cameras for a photoshoot, the Mr Owner raise his hand and welcome us for a photoshoot. However, before we sitting down, he told us: You can take picture, but please don't spread in the internet world.

Wow, such a low profile Mr Owner. Although he is not willing to promote his coffee shop, but there's still so many customer walk in. This coffee shop is mainly operate during office hours, specially to serve office employees who are working nearby.

We love this coffee shop so much, most probably because of the big tree which breaking the shop's roof. It makes the weather look chill.

What is the special food here that makes it famous? Yes, the answer is the toast! This is the most lovely bread I had eaten so far. It is soft, but crispy. What I can say is only: Yummy! The toast is wrapping hotdog and egg.

Other than toast, there's also instant mee, which add in some vege, egg, hotdog. You can either choose for a flavour of original, tomyam, curry or duck taste. For this instant mee, I can say, is just rated as normal.

And this was the half boiled eggs ordered by my friend.

Its a good experience to having breakfast here.

Malaysian Food: Mamak Stall & Nasi Kandar

Malaysia is a multi ethnic country. Each of the ethnic having their very own eating habit. One of the culture is mamak stall.

I still remember during my college time 10 years back, I was staying at Kuala Lumpur. It was so common that every college-mate or housemate visit for any mamak stall when the time reach 8pm. Mamak stall located in many of the areas, including the roadside, around the hostel, and so.

We enjoyed a lot with the foods, especially Maggie Mee Goreng, Roti Pisang, Roti Kosong, and Teh Tarik. There were all "trademark" for mamak stall. One of the style that I couldn't forget is Roti Goreng, which is Fried Roti Kosong. The taste was so special and tasty, can say its taste like Char Koay Teow. However, I can't find one in the Northern Malaysia. Maybe I was seldom visit any mamak stall again after my college time.

In the Northern Malaysia, I found that most of the people visiting mamak stall, the main reason is going for their Nasi Kandar and no longer similar to Kuala Lumpur style. I'm not sure is it different currently or it is still the same lifestyle over there.

This is the mamak stall nearby my housing area. Though I'm not visit it frequenty, but at least it is good when I feel hungry at night. Most of the time, chinese restaurant closed earlier and mamak stall is mainly operate at night.

Let's see what was I taken, a Roti Kosong (Roti Canai) and Mee Goreng (Fried Mee). The taste was not surprisingly actually, but I was enjoyed the chilled environment outside there.

A Valentine Dinner at Sushi Queen @ Aeon Bandar Perda

14th February 2014 is a special day, especially for Chinese. Why? Because it's only happen every 19 years! What is that? For Western, it's Valentine, in the traditional Chinese calendar, it's Chap Goh Mei.

It's named Chap Goh Mei or Lantern Festival is because it is the fifteenth days in January (Chinese calendar). The Lantern Festival is a festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar year in the lunar calendar marking the last day of the lunar New Year celebration.
Which means both of the Western & Chinese Valentine in a same day!

This is the second year of our marriage, so we are not follow those youngsters footstep for a grand celebration. But, as per promised, we will going for a dinner in every special occasion.

As usual, I'm the one who suggest a restaurant. We drove and round on the road, passed by a few shopping mall, still not knowing where should we go. Finally, a Japanese restaurant pop-up from my mind, thus we decided to make a reverse and go back to the first location we had just came from.

Sushi Queen at Aeon Bandar Perda.

Those sushi were prepared to serve on a conveyor belt. But unfortunately, there were not much option. We can found that most of the sushi and food were repeated on the conveyor belt, and also, most of that were carton-pack beverage. I was quite disappointed if compare the condition of Sushi Tei, Sushi King and Sakae Sushi.
